Sometimes the closest my neighbors are going to get to a politician is going to be from the sidelines of a parade. Those with an election coming know that — which is why they’re going to brave extreme heat and march in a tie this time of year.
Sheriff James DiPaola isn’t seen in many parades, but there he was marching along Route 27 in Natick yesterday.
Among the candidates at Natick’s Fourth of July parade: Ed McGrath, Campaigning against Karen Spilka, who walked with David Linsky (white shirt, covered in flags); Alice Peisch marched, but had no sign holders — she’s unopposed this year.
Robert Jubinville drove the route. Not Tim Cahill, he marched with a fairly sizable crowd.
Suzanne Bump got my attention because instead of wearing a T-shirt or dress shoes, she was patriotically and coolly attired for the day with running shoes. But her opponent, Mike Lake, was literally running for auditor on his way downtown.
