Pittsfield
There are six candidates in the upcoming election for state auditor, three of them Democrats. Their résumés include ex-state rep, ex-state senator, sheriff, ex-state labor secretary, ex-Turnpike Authority board member. One candidate, Mike Lake, campaigning for his first elective office, stands above the rest as the most qualified for this position; he has no political baggage.
Having been an associate bank examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank, Mike is determined to identify and exchange best practices between state agencies in order to improve efficiency. He will aggressively investigate fraud, corruption and waste in state government, and in fact has said he will begin by restructuring the auditor's office, which currently has 42 audit supervisors over 42 field auditors. Mike has received the endorsement of The Boston Herald, which states "Lake would be the kind of ‘new broom' the office needs." Please vote for Mike Lake for Massachusetts' sake.
