(Boston, MA- December 19, 2013): Democratic Candidate for Lt. Governor Mike Lake, a Clinton White House appointee and President and CEO of Leading Cities, joined State Representative Josh Cutler of the Sixth Plymouth District of Massachusetts on Sunday, December 15, at the Hanson Children’s Museum where Representative Cutler sponsored a Gingerbread House making event.

“I am thrilled to sponsor this holiday event at the Children’s Museum with twenty local families from the South Shore and to have Mike Lake as our guest. Having been raised by a single mother, Mike understands what it means to be part of a compassionate government that is able to foster community activities such as these,” said Representative Cutler.

The visit to the Hanson Children’s Museum was especially rewarding for Lake—whose family dedicates one day each holiday season to constructing gingerbread houses together—as he was able to share in the holiday tradition with the children and parents in attendance. “Representative Cutler and the Hanson Children’s Museum have not only enhanced the holiday spirit, but have engaged children and their families in the holiday season’s greatest gift—togetherness and joy,” said Lake. “As a lifelong gingerbread house constructor, it was wonderful to see so many children enjoying the opportunity to express themselves with frosting and candy—a special holiday tradition to this day in my own family.”

The tour follows shortly after former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis endorsed Lake’s candidacy for Lt. Governor, marking only the second occasion in which the former Presidential nominee endorsed in a contested statewide primary.

Lake was appointed by President Clinton as Special Assistant for White House Operations and is the President and CEO of Leading Cities, an international organization that focuses on exchanging solutions to municipal challenges and creating jobs through business development. Lake’s vision for the Lt. Governor’s office involves working to realize what he calls the Massachusetts Promise, “a promise of opportunity that comes with high-quality education, job creation, and strong communities.”
