Boston – The campaign of Mike Lake, Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor for Massachusetts, received another endorsement Monday from Worcester City Councilor Sarai Rivera.
She hailed his commitment to public service, vision for the Commonwealth and passion for social justice as among the key reasons she is throwing her support behind Lake.
“As a city Councilor of Worcester, I look for candidates who are going to serve the city that I love, and that is why I am endorsing Mike Lake for Lieutenant Governor. He frequents Worcester and has made it clear that this city will be a priority in his administration for job creation, education and housing. I am proud to support him.”
Lake said he was humbled to have the support of Rivera because she represents the new face of the Democratic Party.
“I couldn’t be more honored to have the support of Rivera because she is such a leader within Worcester and Massachusetts. She is a person who works everyday on the matters that most impact Worcester. Sarai and I see eye-to-eye on so many issues, particularly on a vision for Massachusetts as a place where every person can make it.”
A former appointee in the Clinton Administration, Lake is the President and CEO of Leading Cities. He launched his campaign for Lieutenant Governor in March 2013 and has amassed support from activists, business leaders, labor unions, social justice organizations and major government leaders, including former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis and State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz.
