Thank You!
These two simple words carry near limitless meaning and weight as I use them to express just how incredibly grateful I am for your support, encouragement and enthusiasm. You have made this journey the tremendous experience and success it has been. We achieved so much more than anyone expected, we ran an impressive and positive campaign and we received an incredible 20% of the vote in our first campaign against two worthy opponents and experienced campaigners.
Though we were not victorious in the Primary election, we were victorious in so many other ways. Everyone asks how I am feeling, and frankly I am feeling great! I am 110% proud of the hard work, dedication and achievements of each and every person who made phone calls, went door knocking, joined me on the beach tour, sent emails and other messages to their friends, stood out at visibilities, organized their friends and neighbors, who donated, volunteered in the office, sent dear friend cards, stood out on Election day and who spread the word far and wide.
I want to congratulate Suzanne Bump for her hard-earned victory and Sheriff Glodis for his tireless efforts and dedication. Their passion for public service echoes my own deep belief that we can make a positive difference in the lives of our fellow citizens.
This journey started less than nine months ago. Together we built a statewide organization overnight and from nothing more than the belief that we could improve the Commonwealth. We began in my dining room, then expanded into the living room and then across the Commonwealth - it has been a true grassroots campaign every step of the way!
I will forever be grateful for the new friendships we forged, the impact we have made and the support people have expressed for the future. I am anxious to see you again and without the time constraints that a campaign schedule demands. I am looking forward to what tomorrow will bring for us all.
Today, however, we must refocus our efforts - we still have a job to do, a dream to realize, a Governor and Lieutenant Governor to re-elect and an entire Democratic ticket to get out the vote for. Please join me in supporting our Democratic nominees and asking others to do the same. The countdown has already begun and there are less than 7 weeks before November 2nd. Your help is needed now more than ever.
